DC: Future Gamer's Top 10 Games

With 43 games scheduled to be released before Christmas, the Dreamcast's early-adopters are going to be spoilt for choice. Here's Future Gamer's guide to the 10 games that will make Grandma miss the Queen's speech.

1. Soul Calibur - November
The new king of fighting games, Soul Calibur is more than just a perfect conversion of the arcade stunner. With extra play modes, a glut of varied and beautifully animated characters and more combos than the mighty Tekken, this is an absolute must buy for anyone with even the slightest interest in the genre. Check out our preview here.

2. Ready 2 Rumble - Launch
Nearly everyone who buys a Dreamcast on launch date will be forking out for a copy of this excellent boxing game. The emphasis is firmly on fun, with Ready 2 Rumble harking back to the classic Punch Out on the NES. Best served with a crate of beer and a few mates. Check out our preview here.

3. Sonic Adventure - Launch
Old blue arse makes the transition to 128bit in some style. With the long nights drawing in you'll need something to keep you busy for hours on end and this is it. An adventure of epic proportions with moments of sheer brilliance.

4. Power Stone - Launch
Run around fully interactive arenas in this wonderfully over-the-top fighter from Capcom. Pick up tables, chairs... in fact, just about anything close to hand in order to gain the advantage. It's a gem. Read the full review in this issue of Future Gamer.

5. House of the Dead 2 - October
Ooh... scary zombies! Another shining example of the Dreamcast's capacity for arcade-perfect conversions. It's all very messy stuff as the screen fills with the exploding undead. Wahey! Not cheap though at £54.99, but it does come with Sega's rather lovely light gun. Read the full review in this issue of Future Gamer.
