From: Talonsoft |

Talonsoft, purveyors of all things military, are moving into shooting nasties in full 3D. Which means no more jokes about Sun, Sea and Hex. Boo.
Chris Lewis
Pardon? Talonsoft doing 3D?
Correct. They're finally getting their hands dirty in 3D with, you guessed it, a military simulation. You run about, Lara Croft style, shooting people whose sole aim in life is to hurt you. Hurt you bad.
Sounds awfully like Syphon Filter...
You're right. But how many times did you think, "Hang on, I might get a bullet between the eyes if I turn this corner?" Spec Ops encourages sneaking about, a la Metal Gear Solid, but you get to shoot far more people, plus a variety of exciting, fun ways to do it!
Okay, I like shooting people. Tell me more!
Following the 'I'm hard as nails me, I'll take you all on!' approach, you play a crack trooper and his mate, seemingly dumped to sort out a variety of dangerous situations that would make Arnie turn tail and run. All by themselves. So, if lone gunman-style missions, such as taking out some SCUD missile launchers, are your bag, you may do well to take a closer look...
I only play military games if they're realistic.
Then you're in luck! As you zoom in on the head of an enemy soldier, unaware of the imminent death awaiting him, you almost cackle with glee as he turns round to face your gun and you nail him right between the eyes. As you trudge through the undergrowth, you soon realise fiery death is on the cards if you run about like a crazed maniac. Stealth is the name of the game, and lying in mud, scouting out the territory, will take up a lot of your time. Of course, all the guns have been faithfully recreated...
Hang on, how do you know so much about guns?
Um, er...
