Worms: Armageddon page 2 of 2
N64

There are dozens of weapons and thanks to the infectious gameplay and amusing sound effects, the more you play a multiplayer game, the better it gets. The only real flaw is a tricky control system which has you moving the landscape camera and the worm character. Be prepared for lots of unintentional firing of weapons into cliff faces when you begin. Stick with it, though, as your perseverance will be rewarded with some of the best multiplayer gaming you'll get full-screen on an N64 - there's none of that dividing the screen into four with this one.

Worms hasn't moved on a long way from the first game that appeared on the Amiga seven years ago. Normally this would show a lack of imagination or ambition from the developers and would certainly result in bad reviews, but it has to be said, when it comes to Worms, keeping it simple and focusing more on the fun elements of the gameplay than flash 3D graphics has worked in its favour. The spineless ones' debut on the N64 has been a long time coming and just goes to show that you don't need millions of polygons and amazing motion-captured graphics to make a game that's so addictive and fun that you may well never turn off your N64 again. A classic multiplayer experience which gets even better after a night out with the boys at your local. Now where did I put my bazooka?

Good in single player mode, but get your mates in and you'd better prepare for an experience you won't forget in a hurry. 84%
