Listen up soldiers! Check out the latest on this extremely large - nay, mind-bogglingly big - first-person shooter from the creators of Wing Commander and Privateer.

Starlancer? Sounds like some porn star with a lot to boast about.
You're not far wrong, in a way: though we haven't seen it all yet, this young space opera has a lot to boast of, not least its size.
A bit on the hefty side, is it?
Mate, this game's got more space than NASA. Set in a 'living universe' rather than the standard environment in current space combat games where space is fairly empty (besides enemy fighters), Starlancer will be a bit more interesting for players to cruise around in - there'll be neutral craft going about their business, asteroid field mining and stuff.
That sounds cool. But this isn't just a game of galactic sightseeing, is it?
Indeed not. Starlancer promises to be an intense first-person space combat sim set in a future where the United States, Russia and the Brits have formed strategic alliances and now battle for control of Earth, Mars and other planets across the solar system. Players enlist with the Western Alliance and join a newly formed, ragtag aviation unit, the 45th Volunteers Squadron, where they must prove themselves and earn the respect of their peers. Expect to be engaged in varied trips, from dogfights with swarms of enemies to escorting massive capital ships.
What kind of craft are we expected to fly these missions of theirs in then? Not just any old tug boats, I should hope.
Lordy no! Players may choose from more than a dozen ships and overall you can fly with and against 80 unique craft, ranging from single-seat fighters to super carriers.
