This Week at FG
|
| We have mostly been jumping through hoops... |
A full week at the office for us all this week, a large part of which has been spent drooling over a full-on new game, namely NBA2K on Dreamcast.
Everyone agrees that NBA2K is stunning. In fact, we've never seen anything like it, so much so that our poor eyes have been popping out of our heads. More so than any title on the machine so far, it makes full use of the DC's sheer firepower. The modelling and animation of the players is amazingly lifelike and it plays an entertaining, realistic, fast-moving and instinctive game of basketball. Game on!
People from all over the office have been 'dropping by' to take a look, their reactions ranging from awed silence and nervous laughs to, "Excuse me, I've just come."
Coming back down to Earth, Andy Smith, never one to get carried away by miraculous visions, has still been heavily engrossed in tank warfare on his PC with Sudden Strike. He's discovered three new missions, and despite completing two of them, success with the medium-difficulty level, in which you play the Germans, still eludes him.
"But we will go on!" he suddenly started ranting today. "We shall fight to the last man, to the last bullet! Ours shall be the final victory! Ein volk! Ein Reich! Ein Fuhrer!"
At that point he was trussed up by men in white coats, who carried him away, screaming, to a white van. The rest of us just kept our eyes on the hoops. Which was nice.
