Mini-Review
Eagle One: Harrier Attack
PlayStation From: Eidos

A story-strong sim-cum-shooter designed specifically for PlayStation by flight sim experts Glass Ghost, Eagle One: Harrier Attack has just about enough to recommend it. Set in a world threatened by terrorists, you get to play a crack jump-jet pilot sent on a series of daring missions to save the day. These missions are very similar, unfortunately, but the cut-scenes between them help keep you involved and keep reality at bay. The control system is pretty easy to master, and the flight engine is okay too. However, it's the graphics that really let this title down - they're distinctly average. Eagle One makes for absorbing entertainment, though it's unlikely to go down as a classic. Overall, it's a couple of missiles short of an Ace Combat 3.

Mini-Review
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis
PlayStation From: Capcom

It almost seems absurd to review this game because we all knew it would be good. And it is. In fact, it completes the flesh-eating saga very satisfactorily indeed. Playing juicy Jill of the first game, you must escape the god-forsaken zombie-infested ruin that is Racoon City, pursued all the way by a monstrous, hair-raisingly hard ogre - your 'Nemesis', and surely the Boss of all Bosses. During all this, the zombies you must face are more numerous and more hideous than ever before, but luckily for you, you also have more guns (including shotguns!), an improved aiming-system, more ammo and a few new tricks to boot, including a shove and a side-step. You can even take out the undead in great swathes by shooting explosive objects. Big, darkly beautiful, tense, gore-filled and nastily surprising, with the toughest of bosses, the only downside is that the puzzles and story of Resi 3 lack a bit of invention. A must buy.
