Earth 2150
PC Release: May From: Mattel Interactive

The world and his wife seem to be jumping on the 'first RTS with a fully 3D landscape' bandwagon, so guess what newly named Mattel Interactive are planning to release soon? Yup...

Is it the 'first RTS with a fully 3D landscape' perchance?
You catch on fast.

Why do they bother?
Because people still want them.

What's this one all about then?
From the top. The world's degenerated into three warring factions who are attempting to gather up what's left of the Earth's resources in an attempt to build spaceships. These spaceships will take their respective peoples to the safety of Mars because the Earth's being pulled into the Sun.

Volcanoes throw up new landscape features and meteorite storms can lay waste to potentially profitable areas of fertile landscape. Couple this with a dynamic weather system where torrential downpours can alter water levels and sudden gales can force your attacking squadrons of fighter planes to make emergency landings and you're going to have to be constantly changing your strategy as each of the game's 90 missions unfold.

Crumbs. Anything else that's different?
The designers, Red Orb, have managed to integrate a whole tunnel building section to the game so that fighting, supply and transport can all take on a new angle. Which sounds very nice.
