Get ready for some top morphing action. And not an animated plasticine figure in sight...
Ben Morris
Scientists have a lot to answer for. Yet again their insane invention has left the human race in peril. Who could have imagined that the creation of Dolly the sheep would lead to a new age of genetic warfare, the most deadly weapon being the Genohunters? Able to adapt to any enemy by absorbing their genes and mutating, they are the ultimate fighters. Fortunately, you have four of these chaps at your disposal.
Faced with a bigger threat to the planet, your hunters jet off to dissuade the enemy, using only their fists. Well, to start with at least. It's your job to make sure that the Genohunters get exactly the right genes for the job. Evolva is quite unique in this way: if you see a creature doing something you want to do then all you need to do is order your hunters to kill said creature and then absorb its genes. For instance, not being able to jump far enough can be a problem early on. Simply find a member of indigenous wildlife which jumps well and beat it to a pulp before absorbing it. The more gene specimens you gather, the better your Genohunters get in a certain area.
The team you start with is composed of four individual hunters, each with their own special skills. The ability to order your comrades about also makes for an interesting tactical game. Instead of rushing everywhere in a group and getting slapped repeatedly, it makes far more sense to send the fast Genohunter off as a scout while the other three lie in wait. The freedom in mutation and the numerous combinations mean that no two teams of Genohunters will ever be alike. You can design their skills to suit your style of play.
