CTW (Computer Trade Weekly, as it happens) leads with the news that Rage Software could be sold by the autumn. Several leading publishers have already been linked with them including EA, Infogrames and Microsoft.

Both CTW and MCV report that veteran UK outfit System 3 have been forced to pull out of publishing after the collapse of a financial deal left them in dire straits. MCV also reports that Take 2 Interactive are considering buying Telstar.

Metal Gear Solid is still dominating the charts and MCV reports that sales pulled in £2,194,101 last week. Quite phenomenal. Its closest rival was South Park which managed a measly £1,140,952. Which isn’t half bad either.
