Nibbles page 2 of 2

For more than 20 years, the Hello Kitty character has delighted little girls the world over, with branded clothing, stationery, storybooks and kitchen sinks (cough). So what next for the fun-loving feline? Enter Hello Kitty's Cube Frenzy for the PlayStation. Described as a 'Tetris-like puzzle adventure', Hello Kitty's Cube Frenzy will provide a variety of multiplayer modes, including co-operative and head-to-head. Chances are it will be a pile of poo.

A big thank-you to everyone who entered the Rollercoaster Tycoon competition in FG19. The game was designed by Chris Sawyer. These clever bods have won themselves a copy of the game:

And these plucky contenders have won a mousemat and game demo:

Congratulations to you all. We'll need your mail addresses in order to send out the prizes, so if you haven't sent them to us yet, please do so ASAP.

Online gaming was big news in the Future Gamer Chat Forum this week, with Half-Life deathmatches coming under the microscope. 'Kaneda' is now in the process of setting up the Future Gamer Half-Life 'Death Squad'. He is currently perfecting the FG spray logo and will then concentrate on putting the skin together. Interested in joining? Drop in and get in touch with 'Kaneda' or 'Felix'... The Forum Quiz had a welcome revival this week after a distinctly quiet period. 'Attica', 'Kaneda' and 'Roblc' all threw their hats into the ring with some fiendishly tricky posers. Do you consider yourself a walking games encyclopaedia? Wanna prove it? Come into the Chat Forum and show the world exactly how much you know. Either take on the regular quiz masters, or write your own. The choice is yours. Finally, special guest 'Olaf Plior', head of software design for Swedish software house Mickitache, dropped into the Forum this week to give us some insider information on the PlayStation 2. They received the dev kit about 12 weeks ago, and he finally laid to rest the concerns about whether third-party developers will be able to successfully harness the system's formidable power. "We have been working with the dev kit for three months now, and already we have a full, near-perfect working version of Manic Miner running. We have managed to get all 20 screens in, without borders, and only mild attribute clash. We just need to tweak the animation on Miner Willy and we are there." Good news indeed.
