Bioware's sequel to appear on PC and Dreamcast
One of the more innovative shooters to hit the PC in recent years is coming out to play again and this time it's coming to Dreamcast too.
Set just after the conclusion of the first MDK, the player once again gets to take charge of Kurt as he attempts to repel the evil Streamrider aliens. The game's going to be published by Interplay towards the end of next year when the Dreamcast gets its European and American launch.
As well as just Kurt (and his lovely sniper rifle) the player will also have the chance to switch between other characters, namely Dr Hawkins and Max. Each of the game's other controllable characters will have peculiar weaponry.
Though the Dreamcast is well able to handle PC games with little tweaking, Bioware are keen to point out that they'll be working to take full advantage of Sega's extra abilities. "We are aiming to create the ultimate single-player experience with MDK2", said Bioware's president, Greg Zeschuk. Which is pretty standard fare really coming from the president of a company developing a single player game.
You can look forward to a full preview of MDK2 in a future issue of FG.
