Dear Future Gamer,
Well, I certainly made things interesting in the Feedback section, didn't I (FG24)? So perhaps I was a bit too presumptuous to assume I knew a lot about the games market - because I don't really think the heads of Sony, Sega, Nintendo or any other company do.
It is a strange market that is constantly evolving, but is it for the better or worse? Sony have definitely changed things, and a lot of programmers don't like the changes because it scares them that people are going for graphics over gameplay.
Perhaps my statement about the Mega Drive outselling the PlayStation was misunderstood. What I meant was that during the five-year life span (or rough equivalent), the Mega Drive outsold the PlayStation.
However, I don't think we should really be squabbling over the two new consoles hitting our shores soon, it seems clear that the PlayStation 2 (or whatever it will be called) is going to be the most powerful, but the Dreamcast has Sega's mass of software houses behind it (Sonic Team, the AM departments, and loads I've forgotten) which bodes well for the future. And with cheap price tags, why not buy both? The time difference will be long enough anyway...

FG:
Thanks for answering your critics Shane. I still don't understand your Mega Drive outselling the PlayStation argument though. As for the PS2 Vs Dreamcast, we agree - buy both. There are bound to be some great games exclusive to each machine and it'd be a shame to miss any of them through simple misguided loyalty.
