Developer Profile
Razorworks page 2 of 2

Whilst developing the game the company had a few personality changes. We decided to change our company name as we felt our start up name of ProActive Software didn't really reflect the kind of products we wished to develop. Razorback Studios was chosen. Razorback, amongst other things, is a term used for a hog and gave us the main image for the logo. After a short time we discovered there could be some legal issues with using Razorback, so to avoid any problems we adapted the name to Razorworks. The image of the hog on the logo remained though, by that time we had become far too attached to him. The end result is an identity we are really happy with, and none of us would want to go through it all again!

At the moment a team of nine staff are working on Comanche Hokum for release next year. We feel it will be a big improvement in gameplay and features over Apache Havoc. There are many areas we wish to improve upon, having gone through the development cycle on the previous project. It is a good opportunity to implement our own ideas and the suggestions from the continued feedback and support of Apache Havoc players.

As for the future, I think the name and logo says it all, originality and quality. We are working on a few ideas with our publishers at the moment and expanding the company with a new team. Our aim is to push our 3D technology onto the next generation of game consoles, adding a different style of game to develop in parallel with Comanche Hokum. We had always intended to break into another genre once we had established a presence in the simulation market and we are very excited about the prospect of starting a new game in the very near future.
