Great Videogames Through The Ages
Puzzle Bobble (SNES)

Puzzle Bobble's better known as Bust-A-Move and features the two dinosaurs Bub and Bob from Bubble Bobble (surely a game to feature in a future GVTTA?) in a fantastically addictive puzzle game.

The game's premise was simple - fire coloured bubbles up the screen and get three together to remove them. The computer opponents were all right but where this game really shone was in two-player mode when it became a pure, unadulterated competition. Like most great games, the idea's simple and the execution's immaculate.

The game found many friends and duly appeared on the PlayStation (under the name Bust-A-Move) and has enjoyed continued success with its sequels. Currently we're up to Bust-A-Move 4 and you can bet your bottom dollar there will be a number five at some point in the future. We take our hats off to this great little puzzle game that's almost, almost as entertaining and addictive as Tetris.
