Infuriated

Dear Future Gamer,
This letter concerns the delayed release of the Dreamcast in the UK, not by days, but weeks, three in fact, the date being moved back to the 14th of October. This has infuriated me, as I have waited since November last year to obtain the console. I have never before owned a Sega console and thought I would on this occasion give Sega a chance to prove that they are a worthwhile console manufacturer.

However, a further month's wait is ridiculous, and is on SEGA's part an indescribable mistake. I have had a Dreamcast console on pre-order since late July, and have grown more and more excited about the console. However with Next Generation PlayStation and Nintendo's Dolphin on the way, which lets face it beat Dreamcast into the ground in terms of specifications, have made me wary. I will from this day be cancelling my pre-order, Sega have blown their last chance to launch a home console, and have made the gaming community mad.

The battle is over, mistakes such as this ensure that the Dreamcast will not have a place in our hearts, I now know it will go the way of other consoles such as the Saturn, Jaguar, 3DO, CD32, and the many other failures that have been and gone!! Sega have had the last year to prepare, and a company that cannot plan ahead will always fail.

FG: I don't understand you Barry. You've waited since last November and can't wait another three weeks? You pre-ordered a Dreamcast back in July and can't wait another three weeks! I think you're being very short-sighted suddenly. Sega are planning ahead, which is why the machine's delayed for a mere 21 days, because they want to make sure the people who buy the machine are actually happy with it, not disappointed.

More Dreamcast!
