Dear Future Gamer

I was surprised to read in the news section of the latest Future Gamer (FG42) that the Neo Geo Pocket Color is to be released in October. Here in Ireland we normally get things at the same time as the UK, but the Neo Geo Pocket Color has been on sale since around the middle of August here. Most of the 14 games you say will be available at launch seem to be available now too.

I hadn't looked specifically to see if it was an imported version but I'm fairly sure it wasn't, and the shop I saw it in is part of a chain that's probably unlikely to sell imports anyway. And the crucial statistic: it costs the same as the Game Boy Color.

FG: Lucky you! I went to the UK press launch of the Neo Geo Pocket Color on Sunday at ECTS and yes indeedy, the game system and games are due to go on sale in the UK in October. I guess the Republic of Ireland is seen as a different territory by SNK (the NGPC makers). This could mean you're going to get new game releases ahead of the UK. When ECTS is over I'll get in touch with SNK and see what the situation is.
