| Final Gate (Amiga CD32) |
Let's face it, the Amiga CD32 was a botch. It was marketed poorly and the software support for the machine was even worse. That's no excuse for this game though.
Coming at the end of the machine's life, Final Gate was an attempt to make a game of some FMV sequences stuck together with some very old paper and out of date glue.
The basic premise involved you and a buddy taking a speedboat ride up a river with you trying to shoot would-be assassins that jumped out at pre-determined points. Oh yes, and you could shoot the missiles that came flying towards you too.
The controls were awful, the gameplay non-existent and the FMV dreadful. This is one of the worst videogames of all time, simple as that. It was made by some Americans calling themselves Bigg Wolf. No, we hadn't heard of them before or since. Though we'd always known that a bunch of FMV sequences do not a game make, Final Gate proved to us that those who'd tried to make a game of such beforehand were at least trying. Not even so crap it's good.
