In answer to Dave Steele's letter (FG66), the considered opinion of the regular posters on the uk.games.video.playstation newsgroup is that the PAL version of Gran Turismo 2 is not bugged. Someone has already reported getting 100 per cent, and someone else tried out the "garage deleting" bug in the Machine Test and it has been fixed. The other gripes Dave mentioned included no fastest lap in races, but you set fastest laps in Time Trial mode on the Arcade disk - a bit silly, but there you go. At least there's a good reason to do Time Trials. Also, the entry requirements for the championships appear not to be entry requirements, just the types of car your opponents will be in - a bit misleading maybe, but who cares? If you want to race the Wagon Cup in a wagon, go ahead! Nobody's stopping you.
