Dear Future Gamer
With regard to your reply to Rob Wilson's letter in FG67 ("Dreamcast - The Gamer's Choice"), if you think PlayStation owners, or 'casual gamers' as you call them, have no brand loyalty to Sony, you're sadly mistaken. This is, in my opinion, Sega's biggest hurdle. I work in a games shop and see blind, narrow-minded Sony fanboys almost every day of my life. Many people have come up to me and made comments like, "Is that a DC you're playing on?"
"Yeah it is. Soul Calibur - it's a great game."
"I've heard they're crap, nowhere near as good as PlayStation."
Conversations like this are all too common and all you can do is smile to yourself, rather than jump over the counter, slap them around and shove their nose up to the screen, and believe me I've been tempted! It's a sad fact that people aren't buying DCs because they aren't Sony machines, and this is a very common opinion among so-called casual gamers.
On a slightly different note, I've heard that PlayStation is known as PSX as this was its development title and that PS2 will be know in the same context as the PSY. Is this true?

I'll stand corrected on the brand loyalty then. As for your second point, it's an old rumour that's never been substantiated so we don't know. From a journalist view, PlayStation is written as PSX in Teeline shorthand, but anyway, it's called PlayStation2 now, so who cares?
