Re-volt

More mini car action, this time from Acclaim…

The current trend for radio-controlled car racing games continues with the announcement of Re-volt from Acclaim. Coming this Autumn for PC, PlayStation and N64, Re-volt features some 20 r/c cars and is being developed by British coders Probe.

“The development team at Probe have created an amazing game that blends the realistic physics of a simulation with the fun and action of an arcade racer. Probe’s experience in developing innovative games like Extreme G and Forsaken, clearly shows in Re-volt’s graphic quality and original gameplay,” said Acclaim’s associate product manager, Noah Ullman.

The game supports multiplayer action and there are four different types of battle mode to play around with as well as the normal arcade-style racing involving pick-ups and weapons. Taking a leaf from Codemaster’s book, Probe have also included a plethora of short cuts and secrets to be found as the player dashes around the game’s seven environments – including Supermarket, where, we’re told, the player will be able to ‘topple cans’. Sounds like a whole lot of fun to us! More news and pictures nearer the time.
