UK’s biggest ever LAN party in March
Wireplay, the games network from BT, is hosting the country’s largest ever LAN (Local Area Network) party on Friday March 26. Insomnia ’99 is a 55 hour-long weekend of non-stop gaming and over 300 gamers are expected to gather in Bicester, Oxon for the event.
Participants can bring their own PC and games, although Quake is expected to dominate the event. Wireplay are supplying the servers and other hardware required to play the games and they’re sponsoring a number of events within the LAN party itself. Over £1,000 in cash prizes is available to competition winners.
A number of software companies will be parading their wares on stands at Insomnia ’99. The event takes place at the Graven Hill Theatre in Bicester and anyone interested in participating should email James Kaye at Wireplay.
