Eidos sue Lara tribute site for over one million dollars

One of the largest Tomb Raider tribute sites, NudeRaider.com has been forced to close following legal action from Eidos. The free site, visited by some 6,500,000 fans, is just one of the hundreds of websites dedicated to showing drawings of the Tomb Raider character Lara Croft in the buff.

The site claim Eidos are suing them for $1,100,000+ and all their hardware and software and the rights to the NudeRaider.com domain name. The creators of the site also claim the local sheriff delivered the legal paperwork to the wrong address several weeks ago and they only discovered they were being sued by accident a short while ago.

Although there is no official word from either Eidos, or Tomb Raider creators, Core Design, at the time of going to press it’s Future Gamer’s belief they’re mostly concerned with copyright infringement and the fact that a number of nude Lara sites contain sexually explicit images or have portals to hardcore pornography sites. An official statement is due from Eidos next week.
