Rumours of lock-on cart rife on the Internet

It has been suggested that an add-on for Zelda: The Ocarina of Time will be hitting the shelves by the end of this year.

Nintendo had always planned to release additional Zelda material on the troubled 64DD, although it now seems that the add-on will be in the form of an as-yet-unseen lock-on cartridge. It is most likely that you’ll plug your original Zelda cart into the lock-on and then into your Nintendo 64 (in much the same way as you’d use a converter).

Information is yet to surface on the content of the add-on, suffice to say it will probably involve a new quest for the intrepid Link. Could this also be the final nail in the 64DD’s coffin?
