No restraining order for Bleem! emulator
Bleem! have won their second legal battle with Sony who are attempting to stop the company from producing the eponymous Windows-based PlayStation emulator. A San Francisco court judge denied Sony's latest attempt to halt the Bleem! emulator from shipping.
However, only last week, the same judge ordered Connectix to halt shipments of their Mac-based PlayStation emulator Virtual Game Station. Quite why he ruled one way then the other for the two cases is not yet known, but Sony will continue their legal action to stop both from becoming available.
Sony say that the companies are violating their intellectual property by promoting software piracy. Conversely the emulator manufacturers claim that Bleem! and VGS will enhance Sony's sales of PlayStation games. We'll keep you posted.
