Video conferencing on your DC? Reports from Japan seem to think so
In a report early this Monday, the weekly edition of Nikkei News shed some light on several interesting titbits with regards to Sega's upcoming network plans. Included in the release were details on the number of server spots (which will total over 200 in the States), as well as some new info that we here at IGN DC find quite intriguing.
Apparently, Sega will be releasing both a microphone peripheral (which was displayed with the ever-loveable Seaman at E3) and some sort of digital camera attachment, which together will enable DC users to engage in both video and voice-based chat sessions with other Dreamcast users.
Couple this announcement with earlier news of a score of multiplayer board and card games, and you can see why the DC will be much more than a typical gaming console. Expect more details on Sega's ground-breaking plans in the coming weeks.
