| Par for the course... |
Our consoles and PCs have sat neglected this week as we've gazed lovingly at our shiny new NeoGeos instead. As well as a bit of retro blasting in Metal Slug, the two games that have really grabbed us have been Puzzle Bobble (reviewed with Metal Slug in our new NeoGeo Mini Reviews section this month) and Turf Masters. This golfing game is well above par (sorry), and has really impressed us with its ease of use, while having virtually all the features of golf games on bigger consoles. Work out your line, taking wind direction into consideration, choose your club, add slice or backspin, choose your power and height of shot and... fore! Damn. Still, the colourful sprites, varied courses and truly addictive gameplay mean that a couple of bad shots will just have you coming back for more.
And we've still got some more games to try out! It's surprising we've found time to finish this issue at all, really...
