A Site For Sore Eyes

| Walking With Dinosaurs |
The fascination with dinosaurs never seems to die. From The Land That Time Forgot to Jurassic Park, the way dinosaurs have appeared on screen has also become more and more realistic, and this week saw the first episode of the BBC's Walking With Dinosaurs series. It uses state of the art computer graphics to recreate the world millions of years ago more accurately than ever seen on television before, and they've got a fantastic website dedicated to the programme.
The Walking With Dinosaurs site includes loads of entertaining gizmos, such as screensavers, e-postcards, puzzle games, a chat forum and more. Best of all, you can view scenes from each episode and interact with the scenery and dinosaurs shown, from hearing how they sound to seeing them hunt. For example, anyone who watched the first episode will be able to hear how the little badger-like beasties make cute, snuffley sounds. Just before watching them eat their own young and leg it because the bigger dinosaurs are after them. Nice.
The site expands on the series with information from leading palaeontologists, a look behind the scenes at how the series was made and a great links page with information on all the best dinosaur sites on the web. With great sound, images and film clips, this is a fantastic resource for all ages.
