Find out why Perfect Dark was delayed

The news of Perfect Dark being delayed was one of the toughest breaks for N64 owners last year, but now we know what Rare were up to. Two new modes were put into the game, which already has a strong multiplayer component and a solid single player experience: Co-Operative and Counter-Operative.

The Co-Operative mode puts two players in the roles of secret agent Joanna Dark and her as-yet-to-be-named sister as they work together through hordes of enemies and important tasks. This new mode should add several more hours of gameplay to the cartridge and gives gamers the one feature that GoldenEye seemed to be missing.

While co-op may have been the most wanted feature to be included in Perfect Dark, you never knew you wanted the innovative Counter-Operative mode. This puts one player in control of Joanna Dark with a certain goal to achieve and the other player in the role of an enemy character set on stopping her. Should player two's character get killed, they can quickly take possession of the next available enemy and continue on their mission to stop Joanna. It ends up being a customised deathmatch game with special rules and awesome replay value all wrapped up in a nice neat package.

Is the delay worth the implementation of these modes or will the N64 be dead by the time the game gets released? Send you letters to Feedback.
