Dear Future Gamer
I must congratulate Sega on the design of Dreamcast, and point out a feature that I hope other users haven't had the misfortune of relying on.
During the millennium evening celebrations, my mates and I were basically getting wrecked at my house. As the clock approached midnight, we decided to move the party outside. We therefore carefully positioned one of my very large and very heavy hi-fi speakers on the window ledge facing out onto the street, cranked up the tunes and went out. All was going well - the street was alive with people, fireworks were going off, music was booming from my house and then suddenly it went quiet. I knew instantly what had happened and ran like a madman into the house. My almost new Dreamcast had been on the floor somewhere - as I entered the front room, I saw the speaker had landed right on top of it. My watch indicated about five past midnight - what a shite way to start the new millennium.
However, upon closer examination it appeared that the modem had acted as a "shock damper" and had absorbed the impact before pinging out across the room. The top and side of the casing was cracked and a big black mark had appeared across the earlier perfect machine. Cautiously I powered it up and to my relief it worked as if nothing had happened.
The modem, on the other hand, was in a bad way and lay crushed on the floor. If it hadn't been for this clever little device my Dreamcast would have died that night, so thanks Sega - your shock absorbing modem saved the day.
Which brings me to my question: does anyone know where I can buy a replacement modem?

FG:
We'd suggest contacting Sega Europe themselves, Nigel, unless someone out there can point you somewhere else.
