After years of speculation it has been confirmed that the N64 will get a slice of the Ridge Racer pie. Nothing more is known at this point, apart from the tentative (and predictable) moniker Ridge Racer 64. All will be revealed at next month's E3. You know it's going to be great.

Rap fans rejoice! According to MTV, hardcore gangsta rappers Wu-Tang Clan are coming to the PlayStation. Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style is an arena-based fighter, featuring members of the notorious rap act. Each character will have a special attack - Ol' Dirty Bastard has the jug of booze, while Method Man plumps for the trusty sledgehammer. DJ Inspectah Deck's special power lies in his dextrous middle finger (fnar!). Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style will be released just before Christmas and will feature three exclusive new songs.

As of 7pm on Friday April 23, Tomb Raider fans will be able to download Golden Mask Level One from the The Eidos website (http://www.eidos.co.uk). This is the first of four all-new levels featured in the forthcoming Tomb Raider II Premier Edition, which is due for release in June, priced at £14.99.

This week in the Future Gamer Chat Forum 'Kayne' asked "If the games industry is as big as, if not bigger than, the film industry, why are computer games programmes so scarce on TV?" All the regulars had plenty to say on this subject, with many agreeing that GamesMaster should come back (with Dominik Diamond, not Dexter Fletcher). There was also plenty of hardware talk, with subjects ranging from "which ISP?" to "how to get hold of a cable modem - the Holy Grail of online gaming". 'Philip Dean' ruffled a few feathers with his accusation that the gaming public is shallow. He believes that we are being lead by the nose by companies regurgitating the same old tired games and genres. These games then get lapped up by the majority, to the detriment of the games scene as a whole. Strong points well made, creating plenty of reaction on the forum. 'Kaneda' was concerned that Namco may be in financial trouble, after it was revealed they have sold the rights to all their arcade classics, such as Pacman and Galaga, to Hasbro. Some readers agreed while others believe Namco are simply getting rid of driftwood and moving onto bigger and better things. Finally, a small group of sad, lonely creatures admitted they want to wed Lara Croft (repeat after me "SHE IS NOT REAL!"). 'Jaffa' has finally lost the plot - he spent all week in the forum talking to himself and his alter ego... you can buy padded keyboards these days, let's hope he's got one.

We at Future Gamer have got yet more lovely software to give to you lot. This time around there are six copies of Gremlin's Actua Ice Hockey 2 up for grabs - three for the PC and three on PlayStation. All you need to do is answer the following tough question: What is the name of that flat ball thing that they thwack about the rink? Email your answers to Andy Ashwin, clearly stating your preference for PC or PlayStation software. The closing date for entries is Thursday April 29, 1999. Winners will be announced on Thursday May 6 1999. All the usual rules apply - don't cheat... the editor's decision is final... multiple entries will be disqualified... etc.
