| Half-Life: Opposing Force |
More Half-Life missions on the way
The first Half-Life mission pack is currently being developed by Texas-based Gearbox Software.
Opposing Force is set in the Black Mesa Research Facility, although you won't be playing as the bespectacled Gordon Freeman - this time around you're a soldier. Expect a whole new selection of weapons and tactics, a new alien race and improved interaction with non-player characters. Best of all you get a bunch of new multiplayer maps.
"Gearbox is extremely psyched to be working with the superior Half-Life game system and universe," said Randy Pitchford, lead designer of Opposing Force. "Our number one goal is to preserve the integrity of Half-Life and provide new experiences that expand upon the sensation of the original. We intend to make Half-Life fans very happy."
And we thought they were in it for the money. If all goes well, Half-Life: Opposing Force should hit the shelves this autumn.
