Nintendo want 64DD owners to create their own games

Nintendo are planning to greatly expand their line-up of creativity software for the upcoming 64DD disk drive attachment. In addition to four titles in the Mario Artist series - Polygon Maker, Talent Studio, Paint Studio (Mario Artist and camera) and the as of yet unseen Sound Maker - Nintendo have at least three other "Maker" titles in the works:

Video Jockey Maker - presumably your chance to act as a virtual VJ and cut together music videos. Nintendo may be trying to capitalise on the recent popularity of music-themed arcade titles.

Graphical Message Maker - ooh... How can the 64DD fail with a title like this in the works? Seriously though, we have no idea what this one's all about. Scrolling banners to be used in TV displays? Create your own greeting card and send it to a friend? Your guess is as good as ours.

Game Maker - now that's more like it. Who hasn't dreamt about creating their very own videogame? It remains to be seen how much freedom this app will offer, but it's possible that Game Maker somehow connects to the other creativity apps, such as Polygon Maker and Paint Studio and lets you import models and textures.

Interestingly, five of the seven apps will be network compatible: Polygon Studio, Sound Maker, Game Maker, VJ Maker and Graphical Message Maker are ready for online use. Paint Studio and Talent Maker don't seem to feature dedicated network compatibility.
