Neo Geo Pocket gets 14 titles

SNK release list of launch games for new colour handheld

SNK's Neo Geo Pocket Colour will have 14 titles available when it launches in October. Trade paper MCV reckons that this is a format record for a launch line-up. And who're we to argue? The 14 will expand to some 25 titles by the time Claus turns up although whether this will be sufficient to steal the Game Boy's thunder remains to be seen.

Still, the Neo Geo is quite a dinky looking fellow and those of a handheld bent will no doubt be looking forward to the delights of Pocket Colour Tennis, Puzzle Bobble Mini et al. Namco are supporting the launch with Pacman - do people really still play that game?

Sonic the Hedgehog will appear before Christmas, and you'll even be able to link the Neo Geo with a Dreamcast should you purchase a link cable... and the necessary hardware, naturally.

SNK have yet to confirm how much the Neo Geo will retail at, but MCV reckons the software will be priced around the £25-£30 mark. The good news is that SNK have managed to spell the word 'Colour' correctly (like what we do, at least), and for that we must be thankful. Take note Nintendo...
