"There Is No Recall," Sony Say

Ridge Racer memory card bug problem dodged

Despite reports that PlayStation2's 8Mb memory card DVD driver becomes corrupted when Ridge Racer V is booted up, Sony have issued statements denying that the cards are being recalled.

The wiped DVD drivers can be replaced using the system disc, but Sony have appeared to avoid the issue by claiming the only problem with the cards is the fact that they can't make enough of them.

Sales of the cards as stand-alone peripherals has been temporarily stopped and will resume at the end of the month.
