Bandai and SNK square up to Nintendo
It looks like Nintendo's handheld dominance may take a slight battering, due to Bandai and SNK's presence at the Tokyo Game Show.
Bandai's diddy WonderSwan has just been released in Japan and took up nearly all of the company's allotted space. While unfashionably black & white, the system is attracting support thanks to its diminutive size and price. The WonderSwan weighs in at around £25 and was released with 10 games at £15 each. Bandai have promised that the system will have future connectivity with both Dreamcast and PlayStation.
SNK's Neo Geo Pocket Color hit the shelves on March 19 and is around the same size as Nintendo's Game Boy Color. Unfortunately, with a price tag of around £50 it is unlikely to convert any of Nintendo's established user base.
