Squaresoft steal the show
The legendary Squaresoft, developers of the PlayStation's Final Fantasy series, got the lion's share of the crowd attention at the recent Tokyo Game Show.
Japanese gamers were privy to a sneaky peek at some of their latest projects, including Racing Lagoon, Front Mission 3 and Legend of Mana, all of which are being developed for PlayStation.
To our knowledge, Racing Lagoon is the first ever 'racing RPG' and it's shaping up rather well with realistic car models and stunning graphics. Handling is apparently similar in many ways to Ridge Racer Type 4, with powerslides aplenty.
RPG fans were rather more excited by news of Legend of Mana, Squaresoft's PlayStation sequel to the classic Secret of Mana on the Super Nintendo. While details are scarce at the moment, you can be sure that Future Gamer will keep digging around for more.
