| Star Trek: New Worlds for Dreamcast? |
Interplay's latest heading for Sega's console
Star Trek: New Worlds, currently in development by UK coders Binary Asylum for PC, looks likely to be released on the Dreamcast. The game's a planet-based realtime strategy game featuring The Federation, Klingons and Romulans fighting each other for possession of planets in a Command and Conquer-style set-up.
Interplay are cagey when it comes to details but PR Manager Allison Grant concedes that the move onto Dreamcast is "… certainly a possibility, though all effort at present is being directed towards completing the PC version".
Binary Asylum are also being cagey on the conversion and decline to confirm or deny whether they'll be doing it themselves. Allison Grant did however state "that we're very pleased with what they've done with the PC version so far". Star Trek: New Worlds is scheduled for a release on the PC in the latter half of this year so any Dreamcast version, either by Binary or another code shop, looks unlikely to appear before the year 2000.
