Dear Future Gamer,
In reply to Matthew Colbourn's letter (FG32: "PC is the best games machine"), I have to agree. I reckon that buying a PC is much better than (buying) the PS2 or Nintendo. You can surf the Net and download loads of info, not to mention the fact that you can do lots of other stuff like scanning pictures, word processing and so forth. So what I am wondering is why would we all want a PS2 or Nintendo when we can just use a PC?
However, about the fight between PS2, Nintendo 2000 and Sega Dreamcast: if the Dreamcast doesn't win the war, Sega might go out of business and I don't want that - nor do most serious gamers. The gaming industry has slowed down in the past few years - a coincidence, with the launch of Sony's PlayStation? No, I don't think so. I think that Sony have managed to squeeze smaller games companies out.

Okay Alcoholic Lemonade, let's get one thing straight: you cannot buy PlayStation 2. It is not on the shelves. Yes, you can scan pictures on a PC but we're talking games here. You can buy an N64 for £70. Not everyone can spend £1,000 on a PC. And far from the games industry slowing down in recent years, where on earth do you think it would be without the PlayStation? Sony's debut console has a huge user base of people who otherwise would never dream of playing videogames.
