New Details on Space Channel 5

Find out how Ulala plans to groove her way past the evil Moroliens this winter

As we reported a few weeks ago, visitors at this year's Tokyo Game Show were well impressed by this bizarre dance title. You are Ulala, space reporter at Space Channel 5 in the year 2049. The Moroliens have invaded a space station and people are being forced into endless dancing. Ulala must free the helpless space citizens and defeat the aliens.

Our latest bit of information regarding this title concerns its various modes of play, including the Dance Battle Mode and the Shooting Battle Mode.

In the Dance Battle Mode the Moroliens will do a dancing pattern, and you must follow suite. So, if you see the Moroliens doing an "UP" "UP" "UP" pattern, you must do the same. The catch is that, in addition to simply pressing the correct buttons, you must do so in time with the Moroliens. If successful in this mode, the people you helped will follow you.

In the Shooting Battle Mode you have to help people who've been forced to dance, and shoot the aliens. Shooting the aliens is achieved by pressing the A button, and helping people is achieved through the B button. Again, it seems that this mode is of the Simon Says variety as you follow the prompted actions. Eventually, the battle will end and you'll be treated to a charming little display.

The Moroliens will land in Japan this December, and we plan on being there.
