Sega ship 350,000 Dreamcasts across Europe
Phew! The soothsayers will be chomping on their words if Dreamcast carries on like this. Sega shipped over 350,000 Dreamcasts across Europe on launch day and that number will double by the end of next month. Over 100,000 consoles were shipped in the UK, despite warnings from some retailers that demand outweighed supply. Independent retailers in particular had voiced concerns about the low number of units they were expecting to receive. No doubt we'll discover whether this was the case in the next few days.
Nonetheless, Sega must be upbeat about Dreamcast's European debut, which has exceeded the expectations of many pundits.
