"You are being spoilsport then."
"No, Jeremy, I'm just saying that there are other, just as enjoyable, but more wholesome pastimes they should be engaged in. Like hopscotch, for instance -"
"Oh come on!"
"If I could finish, Jeremy. Hopscotch, sowing, needlework, cats cradle - these are the sort of things little girls should be doing in their spare time, certainly not groping about on all fours in dark caves, searching for lost icons. And the boys, rather than spending hours on end alone in their bedrooms 'fragging' - I believe that's the term - they should be engaged in more constructive activities, like building model ships out of matchsticks, and -"
"Ye-esss... If I could come to you, Professor Case. Is there any real evidence that says computer games are harmful? You've been carrying out research in this area, haven't you?"
"Indeed I have, and I've found convincing evidence to suggest that videogames really can have an adverse effect on mental health. You see, we took a group of chimpanzees which had been living in a tiny cage for three years, appallingly neglected, we wired open their eyelids and forced them to watch Silent Hill for 12 hours a day for a week before putting them back in the cage. And do you know what happened? All of them became sullen and withdrawn and showed signs of distress. And when we started poking them with a stick they became extremely aggressive as well."
"Ye-esss... If I could turn to you, Game Kid. You have children, don't you?"
"Yes. Two of them."
"And you allow them to play videogames?"
"Sure."
"And you don't think that videogames are bad for them?"
"Of course not. Although they are in prison, of course."
"In prison! What for?"
"Murder."
"Who did they murder?"
"I don't actually know, come to think of it."
"What do you mean, 'You don't actually know, come to think of it'?"
"Well..., I sort of missed the court case."
"Why did you miss the court case? Were you ill?"
"No. I was playing Tomb Raider."
"Ye-esss..."
