| Has Lara Shot Her Last Bolt? |
Poor sales figures for Eidos could mean the end of the road for our favourite femme fatale
Eidos reported disappointing Christmas sales figures today, and that could spell the beginning of the end for Lara Croft, the gun-toting polygon heroine who did so much to push videogames where no man has gone before.
Markets have been warned to expect turnover for the UK games giant to be significantly down on last year's Ł37.9 million.
According to the BBC, Eidos are officially blaming a combination of product delays and disappointing sales in general, and not just bad figures for the latest Tomb Raider instalment.
In reality, though, interest is certainly waning in luscious Lara. Her parent company are now looking to their exciting forthcoming 3D adventure title Urban Chaos to take the market by storm, and with martial arts, heavy weaponry and car chases on offer, who's going to bet that it won't be a smash hit?
