The multiplayer-enhanced semi-sequel to Turok 2 will show at E3
It's called Turok: Rage Wars, and it's a multiplayer-optimized addition to Turok 2: Seeds of Evil. While it's not exactly the official sequel to the franchise, it is a significant leap over Turok 2 and features just enough goodies to induce evil grins on the faces of N64 gamers everywhere.
Even as project leader David Dienstbier and team were wrapping up Turok 2, they noticed that there was quite a bit more that could be done with the game's multiplayer side. It was with this in mind that they began work on Rage Wars (formerly known as Turok: Bloodlust). The idea was to create a perfectly balanced, smooth multiplayer game with more weapons, more characters and more gore than ever before. And judging from the features already said to be in the game, Iguana may have just achieved their goal.
*16 weapons, eight of which are old favourites and eight of which are new.
*16 characters to choose from - be it nasty enemies or Turok himself.
*A slew of new deathmatch-orientated levels and arenas with newly designed artwork and textures.
*A significantly tweaked multiplayer mode with smoothed-out frame rates and more gameplay options.
*Brand new deathmatch "bots" (computer-controlled opponents) for the single-player game.
*A trophy system which gives players awards for accomplishing certain tasks. These awards can then be saved and compared with friends. The idea is to build character history.
*Expansion Pak support.
