French PC adventure to be released in UK

Codemasters have signed up the UK distribution rights for Amerzone, a 3D PC adventure game from French developers Microids. The agreement also sees Codemasters taking two additional Microids titles, Corsairs and Gruntz.

Codemasters announced a while ago that they were planning to expand their roster of titles and Amerzone is the first to be channelled through the company's UK sales, marketing and distribution facilities. Already a hit in France, Amerzone's UK release will be supported by a television advertising campaign.

Amerzone is a Myst-style adventure set of four discs and features 3D panoramic scenes which the player interacts with. Apparently, the game takes you from Brittany to the fictional Amerzone jungle in an Indian Jones-style adventure. The game is expected to be released at the end of June. Look out for a preview. Those who despise Myst and Riven will no doubt avert their eyes at this juncture.
