Future Gamer on Dreamcast

We check out the Internet on Dreamcast

When September 23 comes and you get your Dreamcast, it won't be long before you'll be on the Internet accessing the Future Gamer website. We've just been playing around with the Dreamcast and our site looks absolutely fabulous!

Though some of the Java-written stuff doesn't work on the Dreamcast (things like the different sections jumping out on the navigation bar on the left when you run a mouse over them - it can't handle it yet), Future Gamer looks great on a telly. The resolution is high enough to make the text easily readable and, surprisingly, the screenshots look fantastic. We didn't post a message to the Forum though, because that looks like it's going to be a lot of hard work unless we get ourselves a keyboard.

We've said it before and we'll say it again: the Dreamcast is going to need a 'killer app' if it's to become established in Europe, and maybe we've just seen it. Obviously the games are going to be important, but judging from how easy it is to get online with the Dreamcast, Sega really need to push the machine's Internet capabilities. The first thing you'll want to head for is www.futuregamer.com...
