Rumour has it that the PlayStation 2 release details have been leaked, prior to Sony's forthcoming announcement at the Tokyo Game Show in September. Several sources from the Far East suggest that the system will ship in Japan on December 3 at around £250. Launch titles are believed to include a version of Gran Turismo and some kind of Tekken, as well as A-Train 6. Guess we'll have to wait until September 16 to see if this is true...
Nintendo of America CEO Howard Lincoln has revealed a few tasty morsels regarding Project Dolphin. The next gen console will not be able to play audio CDs or DVDs. He explained that Nintendo are a videogame company and therefore their next machine will do just that - play videogames. It was also revealed that Nintendo are planning a very aggressive price point, maybe even as low as $99.
If you fancy trying the Dreamcast before your friends, you might want to book that holiday in Jamaica you've always promised yourself. A couple of Beaches holiday resorts have teamed up with Sega to supply Dreamcast booths for holidaymakers. What a great idea! Just picture the scene - you're lounging around on the beach, drinking cool cans of Red Stripe and feasting on freshly caught lobster... boring or what? No problem, as they say in Kingston - just pop into the nearest booth and get a quick fix of Sonic Adventure or Sega Rally 2!
Taito have announced that Densha de GO! 2 will be released for Bandai's WonderSwan on October 7. The handheld version of the popular train-driving simulator will include will include an extra route not found in the PlayStation version. An English version isn't planned at this stage, although we think the Bath to London Paddington route would be worthy of the translation. Just imagine trying to make that difficult stop at Didcot Parkway...
