32bit Neo Geo

SNK developing a new 'thing'

Not content with having the cutest handheld games machine in the world, the Neo Geo Pocket Color, Japanese behemoths SNK are developing a 32bit machine, a successor to the Neo Geo, which flapped around a few years back. However, bearing in mind that the Amiga CD32 was a 32bit console, you're probably not getting too excited about the prospect, what with Dreamcast due in a fortnight.

Aha. But if the new machine is handheld, as opposed to a console, then it should be a fine thing indeed. "One of the projects we're working on at the moment is a 32bit machine," SNK's Robbie Philips told trade paper CTW. "We'll be making an announcement at E3 regarding it, but all I'm prepared to say is that it's 32bit and will be a successor to the Neo Geo."

Hum. Sounds like it's a console, then.
