New X-Box Details Revealed

Bloomberg News gets scoop from Squaresoft insider

The Bloomberg News Service ran a piece last weekend unveiling new details on Microsoft's move into the console business. According to the article, Microsoft could make an announcement about the new system as soon as the end of October. It went on to state that the new machine "would feature common personal computer components, including a version of Microsoft's Windows operating system, an Intel Corp. microprocessor and graphics chips such as those made by 3dfx Interactive Inc".

Most of the information in the article, including the possibility of a coming announcement, was gleaned from an interview with Yoshihiro Maruyama, Vice-Chairman of a joint US venture between Squaresoft and Electronic Arts.
