Kids software giant looking to become a big player
The Learning Company, one of the biggest players in the children's software market, are looking to increase their profile in the videogames sector. They've already snapped up Mindscape (purveyors of the masterful Circuit Breakers - and soon, Prince of Persia 3D) and according to trade paper MCV they're greedily eyeing up Eidos and Acclaim. And they're both pretty big, y'know.
"We either have to take over another operation in the games market or expand our product range by strategic partnerships where appropriate," TLC's Tony Bordon told MCV. Eidos and Acclaim? "Both are interesting for us." We bet they are.
Perhaps Barbie will take the place of Lara Croft for the next Tomb Raider adventure. Maybe not...
