| Resident Evil 2 To Hit Europe? |
If what we've heard is true, we could see Capcom's re-release in no time!
After visiting retail outlet Game to see what new software had hit the shelves, we happened to stumble upon a release list for all the Dreamcast software due out up until Christmas. Standing at the top of that list was none other than Resident Evil 2, Capcom's Dreamcast version of the hugely successful survival horror PlayStation title.
Puzzled by the inclusion of the game, whose fate in America looks less than likely, we asked the manager for an explanation. "As far as we know," he said, "Resident Evil 2 will not be released over in America, but Sega of Europe are planning to release it over here in order to further increase sales of Dreamcast. We were told that it will be available by December or January."
We can only hope that the manager's words are in line with what Sega of Europe will actually be doing. At the time of going to press, we were unable to contact SOE, so we'll have wait until later in the week to get the official word. It would seem strange for the game to get a release in Europe and not in America, but we're going to give the kind people at Game the benefit of the doubt! Expect to hear more on this over the coming days.
